Necombo

Negombo sits just 6 kilometres from the international airport, making it a
natural first or last stop for international visitors. But it is far more than a transit town. The
old Dutch canal, the morning fish auction at the lagoon, and the colonial-era church
architecture give Negombo a distinct personality. The beach is wide and uncrowded
compared to the south coast, and the town itself has some of Sri Lanka’s best seafood
restaurants. Guests finishing their tour here find it a restful, authentic way to end a journey
before departure.
